Founded in 2019, Gcell cultivo 3D is a Research & Development startup that produces technology with innovation potential in the biotechnology segment with a focus on tissue and organ fabrication using 3D cell culture and bioprinting approachs. 

The company is located in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro state,  and is incubated at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Our clients are public and private companies in Pharmaceutical and Medical devices fields. 
Our main products are: (1) The 3D lung serving as a model for microorganism infection and drug testing; (2) The 3D liver serving as a model for microorganism infection and drug testing and as a alternative for medical organ transplantation.

The company was conceived by Dr. Leandra Baptista, an award-winning professor and researcher with extensive experience in the areas of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Biology, Adipose Tissue Microenvironment and Obesity, Cartilage and Bone Engineering, 3D Cell Culture and Bioprinting. The union of all the knowledge and experience accumulated throughout her career dedicated to science and her passion for translating recent advances to society, made Dr. Leandra join a competent and multidisciplinary team to found Gcell.
